Staying on top of the housing market is a hard task for most people. That’s why we turn to local professionals who are in tune with trends and fluctuations in our community.

Plano Realtor Becca Pulte PropertiesPlease tell us a little about yourself.

I am a proud Texan! Born and raised in North Texas. I have been affiliated with real estate my whole life! I started in the ’90s working with my late father George Roddy, Sr. at Roddy Information which provided beneficial information to commercial real estate brokers and also Foreclosure Listing Service, Inc., which provided the Roddy Foreclosure Report – a monthly publication that lists all the properties coming up for foreclosure at the county auctions in Texas. In 2016 I pursued my real estate license and hold my license with Patton International Properties brokerage. When I am not selling or helping clients purchase properties I enjoy spending time with my friends and husband Jay, daughter Preston, and son Ian at our ranch riding 4-wheelers and hunting!

How would you describe the state of local real estate in 2019?

With all the growth in the Frisco and Plano area and major companies moving into the area, the real estate market is still very strong! At the end of June 2019, the inventory of homes was higher compared to June 2018. The average days on market is around 38 days so still very good for sellers! Also, interest rates are still very good so it’s such a great time to purchase!

What is one piece of advice you have for local homeowners looking to sell?

First impressions are everything! Make sure that the curb appeal of your home is in tip-top condition! Plant some flowers and cut the lawn! I also recommend to declutter and STAGE your home! Staging can make all the difference! Make sure your agent includes that when he/she lists your home! If your home is looking a bit outdated a coat of paint and new flooring can make all the difference! If you don’t want to spend the money, then give the buyers an update allowance.

What is one piece of advice you have for those looking to buy in the greater Plano area?

Plano is a fantastic area to purchase a home! If you are a family with school-age children you can’t go wrong with the Plano ISD! Plano is very affordable with new and mature neighborhoods and the location is fantastic! The homes hold their value so if you find a home that needs a bit of updating, don’t be afraid! This might be the diamond in the rough, but Plano is worth putting in the updates!

Are there are any interior design trends you’ve seen on the rise?

I have noticed that new construction homes are forfeiting the formal dining and living rooms and really focusing on the family room as the focal point for the house and also including more “smart home” features. I am seeing all kinds of flooring but especially the wood-look tile. This seems to be a wonderful choice for families and their pets because of the durability and it looks fabulous!!
