residential design firm in texasPlease tell us a little about yourself.

Kimberly Anne Interiors is a boutique residential design firm based in Frisco, Texas. We believe that your home should be meaningful and enjoyed, always reflecting the client’s personality and aesthetic. We specialize in creating polished, chic interiors that convey timeless elegance while sticking to the ever-so-important budget. We welcome all projects, big and small, from new build design consultations or remodels to just putting the finishing touches on a room that’s ‘not-quite-there.’ Our clients offer as little or as much involvement as desired. Our number one goal is to provide our clients with living spaces that truly reflect who they are and how they live.

My interest in design began at a very young age. Instead of playing doctor or school teacher, I fantasized that I ran my very own design firm. I would pore over my mother’s design magazines and draw sketches of interiors. I loved shopping for home décor with my  mother and always looked forward to helping her out with design projects over the summer. Redecorating my room was also a favorite girlhood pastime, particularly moving the furniture around for a fresh perspective much to my father’s chagrin. For the past ten years, I have steadily developed my skills and aesthetic in the industry. Collaborating with architects, contractors and craftsmen, I am well-versed in the management of every aspect of a project from initial conception to completion.  I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and also studied at Oxford University. I appreciate and cultivate beauty, not only in the design industry, but in other aspects of my life as well. The arts, yoga and cooking are a few of my  passions.

How would you describe your design style?

My design style fluctuates with the seasons and the trends, but overall, I would say that I am most drawn to the transitional style. I enjoy light, airy spaces with clean lines and lots of texture. I love working with neutrals and incorporating pops of color to really make the space stand out. With my clients, I work in a variety of design styles which is exciting, because it challenges me and results in a more diverse repertoire.

Where do you find most of your inspiration?

I can find inspiration from almost anywhere. Generally, I prefer to select one favorite piece for a room. It could be anything, maybe an abstract oil painting or a luxurious fabric. I will often pull colors and textures from that special piece as I select the other elements for the room. I always start with the biggest and most expensive items in the room first. This usually includes paint, large pieces of furniture, window treatments and rugs. I, then, layer on additional elements one at a time. These may include accent furniture, soft textiles such as throws and pillows, artwork, and decorative accents.

Tell us about a recent project you’re proud of.

I recently worked with a sweet single mother who was looking to update her home in Frisco, Texas. I worked on much of her house, but my favorite rooms were the master bedroom, the living room and the game room. She and I worked wonderfully together and our interaction made for a very fun experience. Attached are some photos of her spaces.
